I wasn't fully aware of this game's story when it came out, but it's interesting how it's basically Touhou's version of a "Dragonbreak" story wherein literally everything that happens from all characters' sides is canonical- and it's the Phantasmagoria VS Mode style gameplay that makes that possible in the first place. I only just noticed that even the dialogues are repeated.

Aunn is what I'd describe as a very below average shot for story mode. Her sole saving grace as to why I'm not calling her bad is her ability to have a bunch of i-frames on her level 2, which you can abuse alot. Her shot damage's bad enough that you might as well just timeout boss spells and spam your level 2 to stay alive. Fun fact, because ZUN is ZUN, the Reimu hitbox card only works for lasers, just like in ISC. On Yachie's second spell, you can actually misdirect it from side to side and not have to dodge any of the jellybeans, which is very convenient when there's a spam of bullets on screen. Also, on a final note, I wish the music patch kept Zanmu's theme as the general non-Yuuma final boss theme. Yachie's theme just doesn't feel like it fits a final boss fight in my opinion. Next time, time to suffer in earlygame jail as Nazrin.

Aunn's playstyle, at least for story mode, is the definition of "slow and steady wins the race". Her damage and movement speed are pretty bad, but she makes up for it in other ways. Her Level 2 gives her a solid second of i-frames, which she can use to cheese past a few problems, considering you can just time out the bosses to win. Her initially large scope also works for getting a lot of items from bullets, especially on Yachie's first and second spells. In PvP she kinda just sucks though. 15:54 too bad, let's go Ogerpon (unfortunately while there is in fact a dog, a monkey, and a few oni, there's no pheasant in sight. unfortunate for specifically me) 16:42 Either breadsticks or french fries. Just look at those things dangling on her dress. lol epic fail Yachie Why the hell is Dragon Crest Bullets in a game like this, though? That spell was literally not balanced for a game like this...

well I just 1cc'd this game with sanae, and can say it was pretty fun. Edit: I also beat sanae blank card and sakuya. I stayed up all night doing this. WHEN I CLOSE MY EYES CHIMATA'S BULLETS ARE RIGHT THERE!

As others have already mentioned, Aunn's C2 grants a lot of invincibility frames on top of actually dealing good shotgun damage. As a result, with good timing and movement, her LNN is actually not that hard to get in spite of her abysmal scope and damage. In PvP, she's genuinely one of the weakest characters around. One of the hallmarks of UDoALG PvP is what we call "frenzy", where both sides of the screen are flooded with spirits and special attacks. Most characters form impossible-to-dodge walls with so much spam; unfortunately for Aunn, the special attacks spawned from her spirits are completely aimed...

Man, I haven't even played any Touhou games yet, and even I can see and feel how much Sun is struggling to put out damage, that's rough

So Aunn's route is where I found out what happens if you get a draw in story mode... it treats the current stage as stage one. Which gives you an ability card, even if you're supposed to be playing stage 6. That's how I somehow got Hard Working Otter, one of Yachie's cards. That also means you go to stage 2 next, like normal. That also means, when you make it all the way back to stage 6... you can have 11 ability cards. Perhaps even more.

Ah, it wouldn't be inaccurate to call that last spell card "In Which Ran Reminds You She's An Extra Stage Boss"

Ah, Aunn One of the extremely garbage shots that have bafflingly low power You'd think that with all those bullets from her Lv 1 and 2 it'd be good at shredding stuff around her, but no It does piddly damage Her scope isn't great either Next up is Nazrin and oh, she is so much worse

Yachie's a great schemer but she ain't so good at improvising. Also I believe the tube fox speaking to Aunn isn't Tsukasa, it's just some nameless mook working for the Kiketsu group.

Yachie first and second spell-card's are super simple to me idk why everyone struggling like this. It's aimed at you, so i just hug the bottom and move side to side, I haven't had a problem with any of the characters this way. Also why are you waiting for the "shield" to come back when you can force it back by doing a non-spellcard attack or a spellcard attack? Also you play super risky to the point where it makes me sweat😂. Love the videos, you are a big help to people learning how to play touhou❤😊❤

Yachie has quite the big shell, big enough to effectively hide in after all of the Ls she has taken in this game.

Someone already said this but like Marisa, Aunn’s charge 2 is actually pretty good, if you’re playing competitive or on higher difficulties; basically it’s a dodging tool as it gives a full 1 second of invincibility that allows you to get out of a sticky situation or past an impenetrable bullet wall, granted that you know what you’re doing as the bullets from the charge itself will also obscure your view of Aunn. Doesn’t really help in Story mode though, especially Normal where the bullets never really get that bad. Still a bad shot, but at least her charge 2 serves a purpose, unlike some others who also have crap shots and even worse charge 2’s.

10:44 - I find it strange how this game has Reimu’s famous hit box as an ability despite Reimu losing that ability since Touhou 16. Is there a reason why Reimu has lost her hit box by default?

One benefit of Aunn's lv2 is that while she's using it, she has invincibility frames. It's useful as a defensive tool in that sense.
